Verizon Wireless confirmed that the company has been experiencing a “network disruption” in parts of Ocala and North Central Florida on Friday.
The issues have resulted in thousands of customers experiencing slower-than-normal service as of 5 p.m.
“Verizon is currently experiencing a wireless network issue in your area. Our technicians are aware of this issue and are working to resolve it quickly,” said a post on Downdector from VZWSupport. The website tracks outages across geographical locations and allows customers to post feedback about their experiences.
Downdetector has received a spike in complaints from users over the past couple of hours.
Some users have received notifications like the one above after signing into Verizon accounts online. According to the notifications, repairs are currently in progress and should finish within the next 12 hours.
