Belleview pedestrian struck and killed by SUV in Orange County

A 62-year-old pedestrian from Belleview was struck and killed by a sports utility vehicle in Orange County on Saturday morning.

Shortly before 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, a 29-year-old woman from Orlando was traveling northbound on Orange Blossom Trail, just north of Holden Avenue, in a 2021 Audi Q5.

At the same time, a 62-year-old man was walking across the northbound lanes of Orange Blossom Trail. According to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report, the man was not in the crosswalk, and he stepped directly into the path of the SUV as it traveled in the inside lane.

The front of the SUV struck the pedestrian. After the collision, the SUV remained on scene, and the pedestrian was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the SUV did not sustain any injuries.

The fatal accident is currently under investigation. The names of the driver and pedestrian were not released by FHP.
