Michael Charles Jacobus, 73, born June 15, 1949 in Allentown, PA to Joseph Jacobus and Dorothy Potillo, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 in Ocala, Marion County, Florida.
Michael was the beloved husband of Patricia Jacobus for 25+ years. He was a graduate of Dieruff High School and earned a Purple Heart while serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He retired from Gardner Cryogenics in Bethlehem, PA and moved to Florida in 2004. Michael enjoyed his dogs, joking with friends, telling jokes, watching football and playing golf. He worked part-time at Candler Hills Golf Course. He was dearly loved by all his family as well as many in the community.
He was preceded in death by mother, Dorothy Potillo and father, Joseph Jacobus; step-father, Ike Potillo, brothers: Christopher Jacobus, Philip Jacobus, Edward Detweiler; and his late sister, Jane White, wife of Sydney White.
Michael is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Rebecca, wife of Richard Seaman of Northampton, PA; son Chad Jacobus of Allentown, PA; step-daughter Krista Shaw of Gainesville, FL; sister Judith Fenstermaker, wife of Ronald Fenstermaker, Sr. of Bethlehem, PA; brother Wayne Jacobus of Whitehall, PA; grandchildren: Evan, Jack, Marli, Olivia, and Nicholas.
