The Florida Lottery announced Monday that Stephen Brown of Ocala has claimed a $1 million prize in the $10,000,000 FORTUNE Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
Brown, 45, chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $792,000, according to the Florida Lottery. He purchased his ticket from Shephard’s 12, at 1931 SW 27th Ave., Ocala.
“Something in the back of my mind told me to pick up an extra scratch-off ticket,” Brown said. “I still can’t believe it turned out to be a winner; the timing is truly an unbelievable blessing.”
