A Mascotte man was arrested Monday after police discovered child pornography at his residence in Lake County.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office detectives responded to a tip that child pornography was being shared from 57-year-old Richard Alton Morgan’s residence and conducted a search, according to an arrest affidavit. Detectives found numerous images of child pornography, to which Morgan admitted to downloading child pornography for years, the report stated. Detectives reviewed the collected evidence and found images and videos of a female infant being molested by Morgan at his Mascotte residence, which Morgan also admitted to. The infant was located in California and authorities have also arrested her mother who met Morgan online, according to the affidavit.
Morgan was arrested on 287 counts of production of child pornography, 34 counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and three counts of sexual battery. He is booked at Lake County Detention Center on no bond.
The investigation is still ongoing as detectives have at least two more victims to identify.
