At around 12:45 a.m., a Marion County sheriff’s deputy was traveling southbound on SE 58 Avenue and turned west on SE Maricamp Road when the deputy observed a white Nissan traveling westbound on SE Maricamp Road at a high rate of speed, according to an arrest report. The deputy estimated the Nissan’s speed to be 85 mph in a 55 mph zone and observed the Nissan cross over the right fog line twice. The deputy then used his moving radar to get a clear reading of the Nissan’s speed, which was 83 mph, and activated his emergency lights as he caught up to the Nissan to conduct a traffic stop.

The Nissan pulled into the parking lot of the Circle K located at 4605 SE Maricamp Road. The deputy made contact with the driver, 26-year-old Tracey Michelle Jacobin of Ocala, and could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Jacobin’s breath. The deputy also observed Jacobin’s eyes to be bloodshot and watery, prompting him to ask if she had been drinking. Jacobin stated she “had a couple of drinks earlier,” specifically two Mike’s Hard Lemonades.

After failing field sobriety exercises, Jacobin was placed under arrest. She was transported to the Marion County Jail, where she provided breath samples that registered .186 and .188 blood alcohol content. Bond was set at $1,000.
