Motorcycle enthusiasts from across the Sunshine State and the nation are descending on Leesburg this weekend for the 22nd Annual Leesburg Bikefest.

Billed as the “World’s Largest 3-Day Motorcycle & Music event,” Bikefest kicked off Friday and runs throughSunday afternoon. It features 55-plus concerts with three headliners, more than 200 vendors, eight venues, six hot-body contests, bike and stunt shows, and many other events.

Cinderella’s Tom Keifer, Scott Stapp of Creed and Colt Ford will entertain the crowds, along with a host of other bands and performers who vow to keep the party rocking all weekend long.

That spirit of having fun was certainly alive Friday afternoon in downtown Leesburg as colorful bikes lined the middle and both sides of Main Street. As the roar of motorcycles in all shapes and sizes reverberated throughout the downtown area, Astor’s Jeff and Marie Inshaw, who have been married 45 years and arrived on their Harley-Davidson Ultra, offered their thoughts on the event.

“We’ve got to do something to get out of Astor,” Jeff said with a laugh. “We’ve been coming here for years and it’s just a lot of fun.”

Marie agreed, adding a message for everyone who loves motorcycles in the local area.

Bobbie Deldev and Tory Treat man a refreshment stand and tattoos and colorful outfits are just part of the fun patrons will see at the Leesburg Bikefest this weekend.

“This is the most awesome place,” she said. “If you guys haven’t been down here before, you need to get your you-know-whats down here.”

Bikefest runs through Sunday at 5p.m. Throughout the weekend, motorists are encouraged to be extra cautious because large groups of motorcycle riders will be navigating the roadways throughout Central Florida as they take part in the event.
