Rose Marie Jones, 75, of Ocala, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Born August 22, 1943 in Kendrick, FL to the late Herbert Brown and Bessie Lee Brown (Tucker), Rose Marie was a lifelong resident of Marion County. After 26 years of service as a Telephone Operator, she retired from the communications industry.
She is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Walker Jones, III; and brother, Lorenza Bostick.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Jones, Robin Jones-Porter, and Misty Rose Jones; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Crawford, Virlyn Bostick, Willienelle Copeland, Cynthia Griffin, and Faye Ponder; and brothers, Calvin Bostick, Alfred Bostick, Cedric Kent, Don ‘Sonny’ Hayes, Herbert Brown, and Reginald ‘Noddie’ Ponder; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
Visitation will be held at Zion United Methodist Church, 510 NW MLK Drive Ocala, FL 34475 on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5:30pm-7:30pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 am, Zion United Methodist Church. Reverend Michael A. Frazier will deliver the eulogy.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the Jones residence, 1908 SW 4th St., Ocala, FL 34471 to form the funeral cortege. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
