Earnest Lee McCullough

Earnest Lee McCullough

Earnest Lee McCullough, 89, Ocala, Florida, October 12, 1929 – February 23, 2019. Born in Reddick, FL to the late Reverend Samuel McCullough and Mother Louise Waiters McCullough White.

His brothers, Roosevelt, James, Joe, Darnell, Wardell and Loyce, preceded him in death.

On October 21, 1960, in Ozark, Alabama, he wedded the late Missionary Mother Lorine McClain and to this union was born one child, Sneather McCullough. Joined with his wife, Elder McCullough officially launched Fresh Look Decorations in which he was an independent contractor with expertise in interior and exterior painting and remodeling for over 55 years. In addition to being an entrepreneur, he enjoyed and loved farming, working on cars and spending time visiting and being with his family.

Elder McCullough gave his life to Christ early in his adult age, first serving at Church of God, Inc. Fulfilling his call in the ministry he loved to witness and evangelize to souls. After he and his wife, the late Missionary Mother McCullough married, they, as a union, served faithfully in Church of God by Faith, Inc. He was ordained as a minister in 1980 and as an elder in December 1997. Elder McCullough found great joy in teaching, preaching and assisting in leadership in several churches in the organization. On August 4, 2013, Elder McCullough joined Unity Gospel Family Worship Center and then was appointed and ordained as an Elder of Unity Gospel on November 27, 2016.

In his later years, he found great joy and happiness serving as an Elder at Unity Gospel Family Worship Center. His heart’s desire has always been to show love and preach the gospel. Even during his final test here on Earth, he witnessed, encouraged and loved everyone he met. One of his last messages to his family and church members was simply stated, “Make sure your bags are packed right – That’s all it is, Living Holy, Living Saved – That’s all.”

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted daughter, Sneather McCullough (Andrew), Ocala, FL, Earnistine McCullough (Deceased); grandchildren, Shanawana Vickers (Jonathan), Devonce Owens (Deceased), Shane Owens, Jazmine Brown (Reggie), Andrew EJ McCullough (Rachel) all of Ocala, FL; great-grandchildren, Tayeo Leaks, Aiva McCullough, Nature Vickers (deceased), Baby of Andrew and Rachel (Deceased), Lyriq Vickers, Alexandryia Brown all of Ocala, FL; two sisters, Frankey Mayers of Ocala, FL and Evelyn Mobley (Henry) of Reddick, FL; brothers, Warren McCullough (Louise) of Reddick, FL, Johhnell McCullough of Reddick, FL, and Ray McCullough (Maynoise) of Reddick, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who love and adore Elder McCullough dearly.
