North Carolina woman jailed after nasty altercation with man friend at park

Karsyn Cromp

A North Carolina woman was arrested early Thursday afternoon after Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a disturbance.

A man told them that he had been in an argument at a nearby Marion County park with 27-year-old Karsyn Cromp when she slapped him across the face. The man said in retaliation he “bopped” her in the forehead, then turned to run away from the scuffle. But he said Cromp followed him until they arrived at his father’s house, a sheriff’s office report states.

Cromp confirmed that she and the man had been arguing a park and she admitted to slapping him. She also said she followed him back to his father’s house because she wasn’t familiar with the area and she didn’t want him to leave without her, the report says.

Cromp, who lives in Fayetteville, N.C., was then taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with domestic battery. She was released early Saturday morning on $500 bond and is due in court Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. to answer to the charge.
