An Ocklawaha man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly punched a woman who he thought had taken all his “dope.”
The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that George Odell Musselwhite, 55, struck her several times in the face during an argument. The deputy observed multiple scratch marks on the victim’s face, back and arms, and a scrape mark on her right elbow, according to the sheriff’s office report.
Musselwhite had fled the scene on foot by the time the deputy arrived. He was located by another deputy at the intersection of Highways 40 and 326 and charged with simple domestic battery, the report said.
Musselwhite was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released Friday on $500 bond. He’s due to appear in Marion County Court on Jan. 29.
