Ocala man with suspended license caught driving scooter

Todd Adcock

An Ocala man whose driver’s license has been suspended since 2014 was arrested after being caught driving a motorized scooter.

Todd Andrew Adcock, 55, of 81 Redwood Drive, was charged with knowingly driving with a license suspended for DUI. He was pulled over at around 8:30 p.m. Monday on East Silver Springs Boulevard after a Marion County sheriff’s deputy spotted him operating a motorized scooter without safety glasses and without working tag lights.

Adcock handed the deputy his Florida identification card and said his license had been suspended since 2014 for driving under the influence. A records search confirmed his license was suspended Aug. 29, 2014 and had not been reinstated, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Adcock was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released Wednesday night on $1,000 bond. He’s due to appear in Marion County Court on March 20.
