Ocala woman admits to kicking woman in stomach

Margaret Amber Harvey Belisle

An Ocala woman was arrested Thursday after she admitted to kicking a woman in the stomach where she has a hernia.

Margaret Amber Harvey Belisle, 27, of 2841 NE 7th St. Apt. B, told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy she was allowing the victim to baby sit her children and decided to bring her children food, which led to a verbal altercation. Belisle said she pushed the victim down onto a table in the living room and then kicked the victim in the stomach, where the victim has a hernia, because she felt the victim was getting too close to her, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said she and Belisle were arguing back and forth when Belisle pushed her down into the table and kicked her in the stomach without provocation. She said the argument was verbal only and Belisle was not being threatened when she attacked the victim, the report said.

Two eyewitnesses, who live at the location, said they were trying to keep Belisle and the victim separated when Belisle kicked the victim. They said the victim was not attacking Belisle and they were just arguing with each other, according to the report.

Belisle’s 11-year-old daughter, who was sitting on the couch watching the altercation, said Belisle and the victim were arguing when Belisle kicked the victim in the stomach. She also said the victim was not trying to attack Belisle, the report said.

Belisle was charged with simple domestic battery and taken to the Marion County Jail. She was released early Saturday on $500 bond and is due to appear in Marion County Court on July 30.
