Ice cream-eating 66-year-old Ocala man accused of shoving woman

William Sal Allegra

An Ocala man had an ice cream cone in one hand while he allegedly shoved a woman with the other hand during a domestic spat on Tuesday.

William Sal Allegra, 66, was charged with aggravated battery on a person 65 years of age or older. The relationship between Allegra and the victim was redacted from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office report.

The victim told a sheriff’s deputy she and a witness went to the incident location, which she owns and where she normally resides, at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, to move a golf cart to a different residence. She said she had been staying at a different location the previous few nights, according to the report.

The victim said she and Allegra have been having civil issues as well, and he started a verbal argument and wouldn’t allow her access to the residence. She said while she was walking towards the front of the driveway, Allegra shoved her. The victim said the incident was recorded on cell phone, the video said.

The deputy reviewed the video, which showed the victim walking at the top of the driveway, near the garage door, and Allegra holding an ice cream cone in his right hand. Allegra was telling the victim to, “get out of here.” He then shoved the victim in her back with his left hand as she started walking towards the bottom of the driveway, causing her to stumble, according to the report.

Allegra allowed the deputy to enter the residence and was told here was probable cause for his arrest. He denied the allegations, the report said.

Allegra was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released early Friday on $250 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on Sept. 15.
