If you are looking for Irish-inspired cuisine in a local setting, look no further than Off-Duty Tavern in east Ocala.
The restaurant opened the doors on its new location this past February, serving American fare with an “Irish flair.” Located at 1011 NE 14th Street, the business is billed as a “restaurant/lounge founded by First Responders, dedicated to enriching the First Responders’ lifestyle.”
The restaurant prides itself on accommodating the lifestyles of first responders by offering full menus and even drinks during times when most businesses do not.
“We are fully committed to providing a safe place for First Responders, their loved ones, and all members of our community to hang out and enjoy good eats, drinks, music, and more. We are here because of you and here to serve you,” reads a recent Facebook post from owners Craig and Susan Damien.
Off-Duty Tavern has an extensive brunch, lunch and dinner menu, including dozens of favorites and a few Irish-inspired classics. From Irish Hash and Eggs, Irish omelettes, and tavern Guinness fondue, to shepherd’s pie and bangers and mash, the menu is chock-full of comfort and tavern food that will satisfy any palette.
The business is closed on Tuesdays, and open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. It is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. or later on Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
