The school board has approved the purchase of six additional school buses for Marion county public schools.
During the Marion County School Board meeting on Tuesday, October 26, board members approved, as a consent agenda item, the purchase of six new school buses for county public schools.
Each school bus will accommodate 77 passengers, and will come equipped with a GPS and pre-installed cameras.
The school board last approved the purchase of additional school buses on December 8, 2020.
The buses will be purchased from Matthews Bus Alliance, Inc. for a total cost of $650,460. Once the purchase order is received, the buses will be delivered within 240 days.
