The humane society is hosting a reading event for children in two weeks.
On Saturday, November 13, the Humane Society of Marion County (701 NW 14th Road in Ocala) is hosting its Doggone Good Reading program from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The free program includes a craft lesson, reading to the dogs, and learning how to befriend dogs.
There is a maximum of 12 children per session, and a parent or guardian must accompany the child. While reading, each parent or guardian will wait in a separate area to allow the children to be alone with the dogs.
This event is for children between the ages of 6 and 13.
