A cartoonist from Jim Henson’s ‘The Muppets’ is making an appearance in Belleview next month.
On Saturday, February 6, Guy Gilchrist is visiting Bearded Browncoat Comics and Games located at 10325 Highway 441.
Gilchrist is best known as Jim Henson’s cartoonist, and he is also the co-creator and illustrator of ‘The Muppets’ daily comic strip which printed worldwide from 1981 to 1986.
A free meet-and-greet will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the event is open to the public. Gilchrist will greet fans, offer autographs, and various original artwork and limited prints will be available for purchase.
Following the meet-and-greet, Gilchrist will teach a workshop, ‘The Art of Cartooning,’ from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees of the workshop will learn how to build a character, indicate motion and depth, discuss the challenges of being a daily cartoon strip artist, and more.
Tickets for the workshop cost $20 and space is limited.
