The Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will be hosting three summer camps for children and registration is now open.
The camps will be held on Mondays through Fridays, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., beginning on May 31 through July 29.
The City Kids Summer Camp (ages 5 to 12) at E.D. Croskey Recreation Center (1510 NW 4th Street) and Lily’s Leaping Summer Camp (ages 6 to 12) at Lillian F. Bryant Community Center (2200 NW 17th Place) will both offer weekly camps with a different theme each week. Activities will include field trips to the pool, hands-on projects, games, and more.
There is a $50 weekly cost per camper for Ocala residents, and a $75 weekly cost per camper for non-Ocala residents.
During both camps, lunch will be provided on select days, and children will need to bring a packed lunch on the days that the meal is not provided.
A third camp is also available for children between the ages of 8 to 12 at the Discovery Center (701 NE Sanchez Avenue). Children participating in the Discovery Center Summer Camp will enjoy hands-on learning with games, crafts, and experiments that explore a different science theme each week.
There is a $115 weekly cost per camper for Discovery Center members, and a $130 weekly cost per camper for non-members. There is also a one-time, non-refundable $25 registration fee.
