OPD officers rescue kitten from storm drain

A trapped kitten was rescued by two Ocala Police Department officers on Tuesday night.

According to the police department, a local resident was stopped at a red light near SW College Road and SW 26th Street when she heard a kitten crying from a nearby storm drain.

The resident called OPD, and Officer Moorehead and Officer Uronu arrived on scene. The officers were able to pull the kitten out of the storm drain.

After the successful rescue, the resident took the kitten home with her.

On its Facebook webpage, the Ocala Police Department stated, “Great job, officers.”
