Once the firefighters arrived on scene, they observed flames on a detached trailer that contained approximately 40,000 pounds of potato chips. The trailer was not connected to a truck and the fire was not threatening any structures.

Crew members from Engine 4 and Rescue 3 used a pre-connected hose line to combat the fire. At the same time, firefighters from Engine 3 and Tower 1 prepared to deploy Engine 4’s deck gun, which is a high-capacity jet stream used to knock down fires with a clear line of sight.
