Motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 75 in Marion County should expect delays after a dump truck collided with the SW 66th Street overpass early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 3:50 a.m., the dump truck was heading northbound on I-75 in the outside lane near an active construction site on the interstate. The dump was in the up position when it hit the SW 66th Street overpass, which caused the vehicle to become stuck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
This is the same overpass that was struck by a tractor-trailer earlier this year.
The SW 66th Street overpass is currently closed. The interstate is still open at this time, though officials may have to temporarily shut down traffic on I-75 to inspect/repair any damage to the overpass.
Further updates will be provided as they become available.
