Marion County Fire Rescue units were dispatched on Tuesday afternoon after a citizen called 911 to report a vehicle fire that was threatening a nearby home and surrounding trees.
Shortly after 1:40 p.m., several units from Friendship Fire Station #21 headed to the location of the vehicle fire, and they arrived on scene at 1:45 p.m. Firefighters observed a pickup truck that was 50% engulfed in flames, according to a social media post from MCFR.
MCFR crews immediately deployed a hose line and began extinguishing the fire while additional crew members focused on preventing the flames from spreading to the nearby residential structure.
The fire was under control at 1:46 p.m., according to Marion County Fire Rescue. There were no injuries reported to firefighters or civilians.
