An Ocala salon that has operated for over 40 years has been “reimagined” by its new owner, who took over the business this summer.
Gemini Reimagined is a new salon concept owned and operated by Hillary Thompson. She took over the previous Gemini Salon that operated in Ocala since 1982.
Located at 519 NE 36th Avenue, the salon is situated across from the Ocala Golf Club, next door to Crunchies and Munchies.
“The opportunity came up for me to carry on its legacy and open my own salon,” said Thompson in a social media post earlier this year. “This has been a dream for years, and is finally a reality.”
Thompson’s new shop offers a wide array of services, from kids’ haircuts, dry haircuts, and clipper cuts, to shampoo, cut and styles, blowdries, highlights, balayages, lowlights, retouches, and consultations, among other services.
An Ocala native, Thompson says she started her hair career nearly a decade ago in Okinawa, Japan.
“I love working with my guests and being able to bring their visions to life, making them look and feel their best. I specialize in blondes and providing a perfect cut,” reads a statement from her website.
Gemini Reimagined is currently open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
