Smash Lab of Ocala, the first rage room in the city, will officially open its doors for business this week.
Located at 626 S Pine Avenue in Pine Plaza, the new business will host a soft opening beginning on Thursday, August 24.
According to a social media post this week, the business will charge a “promo special” rate of $17.50 per person for every 10 minutes. That includes five breakable items and one small electronic item.
In addition to the special, customers may buy a “rage release” option that costs $24.99 per person. That option entitles the customer to 15 minutes of time with seven breakables and one medium electronic item.
For those looking to rage out for longer, the “fury fix” costs $30 per person for 20 minutes and includes 12 breakables and 2 electronics.
Add-ons include an option for $19.99 that features 10 small breakables and 5 medium items, or $34.99 for 20 small breakables, five medium items, and one large item.
The business will offer customized pricing and times for large groups, but requests that customers call in advance to schedule those.
Owned and operated by husband and wife Travis and Crystal Kinsey, the new rage room has been undergoing a series of renovations for several months in anticipation of its opening this week.
Smash Lab of Ocala marks the first foray into the rage room space for Ocala. As its name suggests, a rage room, also known as a “smash room,” is a room where people can vent their emotions by destroying objects in a safe setting.
Smash Lab of Ocala says it will offer a “thrilling and unique experience” to its customers, with rooms that are constantly stocked and refilled with all types of breakable items, including ceramics, electronics, glass, dishes, toys, dolls, and a multitude of other smash-able items.
Visitors will be able to choose from a variety of smashing instruments and tools, from hammers to sledge hammers, bats, and crowbars.
The new business is scheduled to be open Wednesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to its social media accounts.
