Motorist Advisory: Prescribed burn in Marion County may affect travel on I-75

The Florida Highway Patrol is warning motorists that smoke from an active 42-acre prescribed burn at Price’s Scrub State Park may affect travel on Interstate 75 in Marion County.

Due to possible smoke on the roadway throughout Wednesday night and into the morning hours on Thursday, FHP states that visibility may be reduced on I-75 near County Road 320 (mile marker 370), as well as on other roads in the area.

Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling in this area since visibility may deteriorate quickly, especially during the nighttime and early morning hours.

FHP troopers are also reminding motorists to reduce their speed and utilize low-beam headlights in order to adapt to changing weather conditions.
