Ocala hosting public meeting this week to discuss city’s future

The City of Ocala is hosting a public meeting this week to solicit feedback from the community about the future of the city.

On Thursday, February 15, the meeting will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place (1821 NW 21st Street in Ocala). The meeting will cover general topics for inclusion in the City of Ocala’s Vision 2050 plan.

According to the city, the Vision 2050 plan serves as a roadmap for the future and is built upon community consensus to promote continued support and implementation of projects over time. Once established, the vision document will act as the basis for updating the comprehensive plan.

For anyone unable to attend this Thursday’s meeting, two additional meetings offering the same information will be held on the following dates:

  • Thursday, February 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Fort King National Historic Landmark (3925 E Fort King Street in Ocala).
  • Saturday, March 2, from noon to 2 p.m. at Citizens’ Circle (151 SE Osceola Avenue in Ocala).

In addition, a survey will be available online beginning on Thursday, February 15, for anyone who is unable to attend any of the above meetings in person. The survey will remain open for feedback until Friday, April 5.
