Fort McCoy motorcyclist killed in Levy County crash after van runs stop sign

A 74-year-old Fort McCoy man was killed on Saturday evening after his motorcycle was struck by a van at an intersection in Levy County.

The motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on County Road 346A at around 6:20 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report, the van was heading northbound on NW 10th Avenue at the same time.

FHP stated that when both vehicles reached the intersection of County Road 346A and NW 10th Avenue, the motorcycle had the right of way. As the motorcycle entered the intersection, the van failed to stop at the stop sign, and a collision ensued.
