More slowdowns, ramp closures on I-75 next week

Stretches of I-75 will experience slowdowns next week as Duke Energy crews work to replace overhead power lines.

The Florida Department of Transportation issued a motor advisory on Thursday, providing details about “periodic slowdowns” expected along portions of both north and south Interstate 75 scheduled for next week.

According to FDOT, during daytime hours from Monday, March 25, to Wednesday, March 27, motorists will encounter slowdowns along northbound I-75, just north of U.S. Hwy 27, and southbound I-75, just north of County Road 318.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers will slow down all traffic to 20 mph to allow Duke Energy to replace transmission lines above the interstate.

During the slowdown, troopers will also stop traffic from accessing the State Road (S.R.) 326 on-ramp to northbound I-75 and the C.R. 318 on-ramp to southbound I-75 for approximately five to ten minutes.

“Drivers should expect delays. Please drive alert, avoid distractions, and follow the direction of FHP troopers,” reads a statement from FDOT.
