Tommy “Carroll” Mills, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024. Carroll was born July 16th, 1938 in Ocala, Florida to Ferdinand (Bill) and Alean Mills. He graduated from Williston High School in 1956 and met his wife Sherry Fant shortly after in early 1958. They married in February of 1962 and were married for 40 years. In 1963 they welcomed their first born son Mitch. Five years later they welcomed their second child, their daughter Molly.

Carroll was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and family man. His most favorite thing to do was spending time with his family, and most recently his new great-grandchildren. He was most content with a weekly Tuesday night dinner gathering with his family for supper. Carroll was a simple man. He enjoyed the outdoors – hunting, fishing, and wood working. He had a talent with wood and made the most beautiful pens, lamps, and bowls.

Carroll is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Fant Mills; and his parents Ferdinand (Bill) and Alean Mills. He is survived by his children Mitch Mills and Molly Mills White; his grand children Max White (Allie) and Harley Nussel (Art); his great-grand children Hayes Nussel and Hudson White; his siblings VeniceAnn Ergle (Gerald), Connie Massicot (Ronnie), and Cindy Smith (Mike); and many nieces and nephews.

Carroll was a man of God. He was a member of Highlands Baptist Church for 50+ years where he was involved in many church activities. He loved to gather on Thursday nights for men’s fellowship, where he looked forward to cooking supper for the men to enjoy. Carroll had a variety of occupations throughout his lifetime. Beginning with banking and ending with building construction. He served in the Army and Army Reserves for a total of 6 years.

Carroll was loved by so many. He was the anchor of his family and the light of our world. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Highlands Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida with a visitation held one hour prior.
