A 65-year-old Ocala man was arrested outside a local residence after a neighbor caught him masturbating in the driveway.
On Monday, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office corporal and a deputy trainee responded to a local neighborhood in reference to a man exposing his genitals.
Upon arrival, they made contact with a man, identified as Charles Marcel Schmidt, who was “standing in the driveway with his pants around his thighs and [his] penis exposed,” according to the arrest report.
The report stated that after multiple instructions from the corporal, Schmidt eventually pulled up his pants and was detained in handcuffs.
The corporal then made contact with a woman who advised that Schmidt had been staying at her home. Inside the residence, the corporal observed an empty bottle of Jim Beam near a couch where Schmidt had been sleeping prior to the incident, according to the report.
The corporal noted that a neighbor across the street had video footage of the incident involving Schmidt. On the footage, which was recorded from the neighbor’s bathroom window, Schmidt was seen in the driveway with his pants down.
The report further stated that Schmidt’s penis was fully exposed on the footage, and he was observed masturbating while standing in the driveway.
Schmidt was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. He is being charged with indecent exposure of sexual organs.
A court date has not been scheduled yet, according to jail records.
