An Ocala singer who won a chance to open SunFest earlier this year has just been named the “Hometown Hero” for Rock The Country when it returns to Marion County next May.
Noah Hunton was one of the ten winners announced by the organization on Tuesday. The win earns Hunton 2 VIP tickets to the concert when it returns to Ocala in May 2025.
In addition to the tickets, Hunton also won merchandise, a backstage tour, and a chance to lead the concert in the Pledge of Allegiance on stage.
Hunton edged out Ben Fritz and Brent Murray of Ocala for the honor.
“Beyond excited and blessed to be hometown hero for Ocala,” said Hunton in a statement posted to social media.
The singer says he will release a new single after promising his fans that he would do so if he wont the competition.
“I’m a man of my word, so since we won, I’ll be releasing my new single ‘You & I’ very soon to say thank you to my fans and voters,” said Hunton.
Over the past year, Hunton has steadily seen his star rise in the country music industry.
The singer was nominated for two Josie Music Awards, released his first full-length album, made it through several rounds of Rolling Stone’s Top Hitmaker competition, and won the opportunity to open for Dylan Scott at SunFest.
Earlier this Summer, Hunton performed at the Patriotic Skies Fourth of July celebration in Ocala.
Over 30,000 fans attended the first Rock The Country in Reddick earlier this year. That inaugural two-day festival was headlined by Kid Rock and Jason Aldean.
Rock The Country will take place at the Florida Horse Park in Ocala on May 9 and May 10, 2025.
Last month, event organizers announced that Nickelback will co-headline the 10-stop concert tour with Kid Rock.
