The top twelve largest real estate transactions in Marion County this year have totaled approximately $150 million and include the sale of multiple golf courses, Walmarts, and assisted living facilities.
Over the past five months, Ocala-News.com has reported about dozens of local commercial real estate transactions.
The largest of those was the sale of the former Adena Golf Club for $63 million. Now known as Iron Lake, that prestigious golf club was purchased by a former United States Treasury official.
The second-largest transaction was the sale of the new Walmart Neighborhood Market on Maricamp Road for $16.5 million.

That location officially opened for business in January. In addition to the Walmart on Maricamp Road, another Walmart property in southwest Ocala was sold for $5.28 million.

The third-largest transaction was the $13.475 million sale of the Links at Spruce Creek South, a golf course retirement community located in Summerfield.

That golf course was one of at least three that have changed hands over the past year in Marion County, joining Adena and Country Club of Ocala, which was sold last October.

At least two separate shopping centers have been sold for large sums as well. That includes the Country Oaks Shopping Center in southwest Ocala, which was sold for $7.25 million and the Marketplace at Ocala Shopping Center (i.e., Waldrep Plaza), which sold for $7 million.

Earlier this month, FedEx purchased another distribution facility in Ocala for $6.25 million.
Just two weeks prior to that purchase, a property with a Mr. Clean Car Wash that opened in Ocala in 2022 was sold for $5.07 million.

In April, the Hampton Manor at Deerwood assisted living facility was sold for $6.3 million.

This year’s data follows a year with hundreds of sales that passed the $1 million threshold. In fact, the 162 largest real estate transactions in Marion County in 2025 generated over $1 billion in sales.
