A Marion County Sheriff’s Office senior digital forensics technician was presented with the Top Forensics Examiner Award for 2021 this week.
Members of the United States Secret Service and the National Computer Forensics Institute made the trip to Marion County on Friday to present the award to Jesse Newbanks.
In a social media posting, MCSO stated that this prestigious award recognizes Newbanks’ hard work in helping to solve various crimes that involve computers or other digital media.
He assisted detectives in making arrests in cases that involved sexual predators and homicides.
Sheriff Billy Woods said, “I’m very proud of the hard and difficult work that Jesse does as well as the strong partnership with our federal partners at the U.S. Secret Service. Their hard work is helping us make Marion County a safe place to live, work, and play.”
