Roberto Lopez, 61, was arrested shortly before 10:30 p.m. on a charge of disorderly conduct after he was reportedly yelling profanities. He called the girlfriend of the man who reported Lopez “a whore” at the Chili’s located on 11290 Sw 93 Ct., according to a Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. Lopez stated several times that he had a firearm and made threats to harm the man who reported him to law enforcement.

Shortly after the altercation, the restaurant’s manager escorted Lopez outside. The man who had reported Lopez exited the restaurant and tried to settle Lopez down by talking to him, only to anger Lopez and begin another argument.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies made contact with the manager who advised that he had to talk to Lopez several times about using foul language and acting belligerent while at the bar area due to several other customers being afraid and offended. Deputies then made contact with a witness who advised that she was eating dinner and observed Lopez causing a scene and yelling profanities. She also advised that Lopez stated several times he had a gun.

Prior to deputies’ arrival at Chili’s, another Marion County sheriff’s deputy had initiated a traffic stop on a tan pickup truck matching the description of Lopez’s vehicle.

Lopez was placed under arrest and was transported to Marion County Jail. Bond was set at $1,000.
