A trio was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the burglary of a home in Ocala.
Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence located at 506 Spring Lake Road in Ocala in reference to a report of a possible burglary in progress, according to an arrest report. A neighbor advised that he observed a dark colored, two-door vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Cavalier, in the driveway of the home. He walked over to the home and observed a white male closing the sliding door at the rear of the residence, which was locked earlier in the day and had a bar in place to keep it from being opened. He then observed two white males leave the house and enter the vehicle. He recorded the vehicle’s license plate number and reported it to authorities.
The vehicle was stopped at Oakwood Drive and Maricamp Road, a short distance from the incident location, by responding patrol deputies. The vehicle was occupied with the driver, later identified as 24-year-old Cecilia Perez, and two passengers identified as 38-year-old David John Robson of Summerfield and 30-year-old Ryan Anthony Marrero of Belleview. All of them were transported to the MCSO’s South Multi-District Office, where they were interviewed.
Perez advised all of them were driving around to several houses, and that as she would pull up to the houses, Robson would get out and knock on the front door of the residence to see if anybody was home. She advised that if there was an answer, Robson would provide them with a story about why he was there, and if not, Robson would go around to the back of the residence. Perez advised that he was there to “rob” the houses, but did not realize this until they had already been to a few homes. Perez advised that the three of them went to two houses before the third incident location, where Marrero finally got out of the car with Robson.
Deputies then interviewed Marrero, who advised he approached the incident location with Robson. Marrero advised that Robson went to the back and did not know what Robson was doing while behind the residence, but confirmed that the couple was knocking on doors to rob empty homes.
Robson told deputies in an interview that he went to the residences to ask for gas. He advised that at the incident location, he went behind the home to find a gas can behind the residence for his vehicle, but took nothing.
Perez was arrested on charges of driving on a suspended license. Marrero and Robson were arrested for burglary. All three were transported to the Marion County Jail. Bond was set at $1,000 for Perez, and $10,000 for Marrero and Robson.
