Ocala man charged with sexual battery after 13-year-old girl comes forward

Jonathan Erick Doody II

A 22-year-old Ocala man was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior on Tuesday after a minor came forward and claimed he had sex with her several times last summer.

Marion County sheriff’s Major Crimes detective Daniel Pinder arrested 22-year-old Jonathan Erick Doody II after the 13-year-old girl contacted law enforcement. She told detectives that she’d heard reports about Doody being arrested in January for lewd and lascivious behavior involving a 15-year-old victim, prompting her to report what happened to her.

The girl gave detectives detailed accounts of their alleged sexual encounters and also described the interior of Doody’s bedroom in great detail. When approached with the victim’s account of what happened, Doody denied having sex with her and claimed she’d never been to his house.

Doody was booked into the Marion County Jail at 9:43 a.m. Tuesday and is being held on $20,000 bond. His next court date hasn’t yet been set.
Due to the information gathered during both investigations, detectives believe that there may other victims who haven’t yet come forward. Anyone with possible information on any other incidents involving Doody and minors is asked to call Pinder at (352) 368-3508.
