Man charged sixth time with driving with suspended license

Arnette Henry Williams Jr.

An Ocala man with five previous convictions for driving with a suspended license was charged again after being stopped for having an expired license tag.

Arnette Henry Williams Jr., 37, of 1210 NW 12th St., was driving a white Ford Crown Victoria when he was pulled over Wednesday morning in the 1600 block of NW 4th Street. The Ocala Police officer had observed that the sticker on his license tag read 2/19 and confirmed it was expired before initiating the traffic stop, according to the arrest report.

Williams told the officer he had a suspended driver’s license, and a records search revealed his license was revoked in 2008, twice in 2011, twice in 2014, 2017, and 2018. It also showed convictions for driving on a suspended license in 2000, 2004, 2007, 20010, and 2016, according to the report.

Williams was charged with driving while license suspended or revoked (sixth offense) and taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released Thursday on $5,000 bond. No court date was set.
