Ocala couple jailed after nasty lover’s spat while driving

Olajuwon Leon Sikes
Audreanna Shanelle Mackey

An Ocala man and woman were both arrested after allegedly striking each other during an argument while he was driving.

Olajuwon Leon Sikes, 25, and Audreanna Shanelle Mackey, 20, were each charged with domestic battery after the incident, which happened Sunday morning while Sikes was driving her from his residence on NW 6th Street to her residence on NW 8th Street. Sikes and Mackey have been together four years and they have a child in common, according to the Ocala Police report.

Mackey, who reported the incident, said she and Sikes got into an argument about him leaving her house on Saturday night to go see another female. She said they were driving when she put her hands up by her face because she was done arguing with him. She said Sikes then hit her in the mouth with a closed fist. Mackey said she didn’t know if Sikes thought she was going to hit him because she raised her hand, the report said.

Mackey said Sikes dropped her off and then went to work. The officer observed a red mark on Mackey’s lip. When asked if she struck Sikes, Mackey said she didn’t, according to the report.

Sikes said he and Mackey were arguing when she hit him five to seven times with a closed fist. He also said that while he was driving, Mackey grabbed the steering wheel and jerked it, almost causing him to crash. The officer observed Sikes’ lip was swollen on the left side of his mouth, the report said.

Due to the fact their stories were inconsistent, there were no independent witnesses, and both Sikes and Mackey had marks on their faces, both were arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail. Mackey was released Monday on her own recognizance and will appear in Marion County Court on July 30. Sikes was released early Tuesday on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear July 18.
