Silver Springs woman admits to slapping man who locked her out

Rachal Lynn

A Silver Springs woman was arrested on a domestic battery charge Wednesday after admitting she slapped a man who locked her out of their home.

Rachal Lynn, 38, of NE 44th Lane, told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy she and the victim got into an argument over the victim being intoxicated. She said she called the victim a “drunk,” and he locked her out of their residence, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Lynn said she tried to get back into the residence by breaking down the front door. When she did this, the victim opened the front door. Lynn then spontaneously said, “I did push him with the door and slapped him in the face,” the report said.

The victim said Lynn scratched him on his arms and battered him in the face. The deputy observed a superficial laceration on the victim’s right forearm. The victim also provided a written statement, according to the report.

While being placed in handcuffs, Lynn began to claim the victim battered her as well, saying “I was lying to cover for him so di could get my kids back.” The deputy did not see any injuries on Lynn, the report said.

Lynn was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released early Friday on $500 bond. She’s scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on July 30.
