Lamp-wielding Belleview woman jailed after spat with ex-boyfriend’s mom

Elizabeth Rebbeka Lee Wynn

A 23-year-old Belleview woman was arrested for allegedly striking her former boyfriend’s mother with a table lamp.

Elizabeth Rebbeka Lee Wynn was charged with simple battery after the incident, which happened July 21 at her ex-boyfriend’s residence on SE 96th Avenue. The victim told a Belleview Police officer her son and Wynn used to be in a relationship and that she shows up at the residence to cause problems, according to the police report.

The victim said her son came to her residence, which is also on SE 96th Avenue, and said Wynn had struck him in the face. The victim went to her son’s residence and asked Wynn to leave, and she refused. The victim said as she turned to leave, Wynn picked up a table lamp and struck her twice in the head and upper back, the report said.

The officer observed a red mark on the victim that stretched from below her left shoulder blade to the base of the neck. She said her head also hurt from the incident, but she declined medical treatment, according to the report.

The victim’s son said he was asleep in his home when Wynn began punching him in the face. He said he went to his mother’s house and told her what happened. He said his mother and a witness went to his home to ask her to leave and he didn’t see what happened when they were there. The victim’s son said Wynn doesn’t live at his residence, but he sometimes allows her to sleep there. He said he didn’t want to press charges against her for striking him, the report said.

The witness who accompanied the victim to the incident location said the victim asked Wynn to leave the residence to leave several times. She said Wynn said she wasn’t leaving and sat on the bed. The witness said when the victim said she was going to call law enforcement and turned to leave, Wynn grabbed a table lamp and struck her in the back before leaving the location, according to the report.

The officer observed a gold table lamp with a white lampshade in the bedroom of the incident location. The lampshade was flattened on one side, the report said.

Wynn was arrested Wednesday and taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released early Thursday on $1,000 bond. No court date was set.
