Pregnant Ocala woman locked up after man turns up with bloody lip

Glynnis Carrillo

An Ocala woman was arrested Saturday night after an altercation in her driveway left a man with a bloody lip.

Glynnis Carrillo, 39, told Ocala Police officers that a man she lives with had been drinking, was intoxicated and had been respectful toward her and another person in the house. She said she put some of the man’s clothing and personal items in his vehicle and told him that he needed to leave, the report says.

Carrillo’s relationship to the man and the other person at the residence was unclear, as it was redacted from the report.

Carrillo said she reached inside the man’s vehicle to grab her house keys that were in a cupholder and the man grabbed both of her wrists. She said she couldn’t pull away, so she bit him on the wrist to get him to release his grip, which he did, the report says, adding that the other person in the house confirmed her story.

The officers reported that Carrillo, who is seven months pregnant, didn’t have any visible injuries. She also declined treatment from EMS.
Officers then spoke with the man, who had returned to the residence. He admitted that he had been drinking and initially claimed that Carillo had thrown his clothes outside “but he didn’t know why.”

While speaking with the man, officers noticed the small cut with dried blood on the side of his mouth just below his bottom lip. When asked what happened, the man claimed that Carrillo had “punched him in the face,” the report says.

Officers noted that there were no bite marks on the man’s wrist or arms. He refused EMS treatment and told officers he never made any physical contact with Carrillo, the report says.

Carrillo was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with domestic battery. She was released Monday afternoon on her own recognizance and is due in court Monday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. to answer to the charge.
