Ocala motorist escapes injury in Osceola County crash that kills motorcyclist

An Ocala driver escaped injury in a Tuesday afternoon crash in Osceola County that left a motorcyclist dead.

The crash took place around 3:20 p.m. when a sport utility vehicle being driven by a 48-year-old Ocala man was traveling south on Poinciana Boulevard in the center lane. He attempted to change lanes into the right lane and collided with a motorcycle being driven by a 52-year-old Kissimmee man, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.

The motorcyclist was ejected and later died at Osceola Regional Medical Center. The crash remains under investigation, according to the FHP report.
