An Ocala man was arrested recently after his crying lady friend said he had pushed her over a couch in their recreational vehicle while drinking whiskey.

The victim said 68-year-old Michael J. Lynch becomes aggressive when he is under the influence of alcohol and he wouldn’t allow her to go to sleep. She said Lynch started cursing at her and approached her while she was standing near the couch, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office report states.

The victim said she was able to exit the RV and call 911. She also told deputies that Lynch had pushed her using both hands near her upper chest , the report says, adding that a deputy observed redness near the victim’s chest and shoulder area.

After being read his rights, Lynch denied pushing the victim and claimed she fell over the couch. He said a panel on the couch was broken when she fell over it but refused to make any more statements when deputies told him the victim suffered injuries near her chest area, according to the report.

Lynch was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with domestic battery. He was released on $1,000 bond and is due in court May 4 at 9:30 a.m., jail records show.
