A violent wrong-way driver was arrested recently after Marion County sheriff’s deputies spotted him traveling on W. Hwy. 40.

When deputies made contact with 40-year-old Albert Molina during a traffic stop, he became disorderly and began to resist arrest with violence, a sheriff’s office report states. Molina, of Ocala, ultimately was restrained and placed into the rear of the patrol vehicle.

A short time later, Molina attempted to kick the deputies and struck the door several times. He also had brass knuckles hidden in his vehicle and did not have a valid driver’s license, the report says.

Molina was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with operating a motorcycle without a license, reckless driving (first offense), resisting an officer with violence, carrying a concealed weapon and probation violations on past charges of battling a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence and taking a law enforcement officer’s firearm. He was being held on $7,000 bond on the new charges and no bond on the probation violations. He’s due in court June 7 and June 8 to answer to the charges, jail records show.
