‘Pride and Prejudice’ screening to benefit Marion County Literacy Council

As part of the Reels and Reading Event, the Marion Theatre will offer a free screening of Pride and Prejudice to benefit a local nonprofit.

The screening will take place on Thursday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Marion Theatre (50 S Magnolia Avenue), and is part of the theatre’s initiative to benefit the Marion County Literacy Council.

In exchange for free admission, those in attendance are encouraged to provide in-kind cash donations that will benefit the council.

Founded in 1999, the Marion County Literacy Council is a non-profit organization that focuses on improving access to resources that help residents improve their literacy skills.

The series will feature three additional installments on Saturday, May 22 (5:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.), Thursday, May 27 (5:30 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.), and Saturday, May 29 (5:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.).
