A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident on State Road 26 in Alachua County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s incident report, a 37-year-old Keystone Heights man was walking west on State Road 26 at around 7 a.m. this morning.
He was approximately three-quarters of a mile west of County Road 1469 when a vehicle struck him and fled the area.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
FHP investigators are looking for a 2007 to 2012 Dodge Caliber sedan with a missing right-side mirror and damage to the right-side windshield.

The name of the victim has not been released, per FHP policy.
