Marion County Sheriff’s Office to host High School Senior Expo in May

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a hiring event next month for graduating high school seniors who are interested in a career in law enforcement.

The High School Senior Expo will be held on Thursday, May 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the MCSO multipurpose room, which is located at 3290 NW 10th Street in Ocala.

Attendees will be able to apply for civilian and sworn positions. In addition to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Ocala Police Department, Belleview Police Department, and Dunnellon Police Department will also be at the event to speak with attendees and to answer any questions.

According to MCSO, employee benefits for each position include retirement, a wellness program, generous leave time, educational achievement pay, tuition reimbursement, and insurance (health, dental, life, and vision).

Each applicant must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
