City of Ocala to host public meeting on Edgewood Park drainage retention area improvements

The City of Ocala will be hosting a public meeting later this month to discuss improvements to the drainage retention area at Edgewood Park.

The meeting will be held on Monday, May 23, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Edgewood Park (930 SE 16th Street). During the meeting, improvements to the project will be discussed, including a Nutrient Removing Filtration System with Bold and Gold biosorption activated media.

This filtration system will help reduce contaminants that threaten water quality, according to a press release from the city.

This meeting is free to attend and is open to the public. Everyone who attends the meeting will receive an overview of the expected project and implementation timeline. As part of the grant funding guidelines, feedback from residents will be included in the final documents.

For more information, please call the City of Ocala’s Water Resources Department at 352-351-6772.
