Ocala Police Department seeks vendor to provide 300 uniforms

The City of Ocala is soliciting quotes for an experienced vendor to provide durable and comfortable uniforms for the Ocala Police Department’s officers.

The request for quotes is currently posted through the City of Ocala’s Procurement and Contracting Office and runs through Monday, November 7 at 2 pm.

According to the scope of work outlined in the request, the chosen vendor will provide 300 uniforms to OPD’s Community Policing Department, and the clothing must meet the following specifications:

  • Covert Tactical Pants:
    • 100% Polyester Ripstop (6.6 oz) with mechanical stretch.
    • Must include hemming.
    • Durable water repellent coating.
    • Highly breathable performance to quickly release moisture and heat.
    • Odor control technology to stop the growth of odor-causing bacteria.
    • UPF 30.
    • Two (2) front “L” pockets, two (2) rear hip pockets, and two (2) side cut-in pockets with interior magazine pocket on the left side.
    • Interior phone pocket on the right side and one (1) rear phone pocket on the left side.
    • 37″ (REG) inseam with 9.5’’ front rise; 39.5’’ (TALL) inseam with 11.25’’ front rise.
  • S/S Uniform Shirt:
    • Shell – 100% polyester ripstop (6.6 oz) with mechanical stretch. Mesh – 92% nylon, 8% spandex satin.
    • Durable water repellent coating.
    • Highly breathable performance to quickly release moisture and heat.
    • Odor control technology to stop the growth of odor-causing bacteria.
    • UPF 30.
    • Two (2) chest pockets and two (2) hidden napoleon pockets underneath.
    • 32.5’’ (center black length) – size M and REG.

The vendor must be able to provide in-house fittings and take measurements for the officers at the Ocala Police Department, which is located at 402 S Pine Avenue. All of the garments must be new, and of the same brand and quality. The clothing items can be labeled with the manufacturer’s name, cleaning instructions, and the garment’s composition.

Once an order is submitted, delivery must be made within a period of seven (7) days. Each order will need to be separated by employee and labeled with the employee’s first initial and last name.

Any vendors that are interested in this request must submit outfit samples via mail to the City of Ocala Procurement Office, Attention: Louis Joseph, 110 SE Watula Avenue, 3rd Floor, Ocala, FL 34471. The samples must be received by no later than five business days after the bid submittal deadline to be eligible.

The city will award a contract to the lowest bidder that meets all requirements. The contract will be for an initial three-year term, with the option for two additional one-year renewals, according to city records.
